The weekend of May 14th, 2022, Angier Rotarians joined the District Conference to celebrate different Clubs’ achievements from the previous year, to learn about international work Clubs are accomplishing, to learn about local Foundation Grant projects and to complete a local service project. The District Conference was held in Winston-Salem and started with a banquet celebraing our new District and Club leadership. We were excited to officially welcome our 2022-2023 President, Dolores Price and to receive the District Community Service Award. Words of Wisdom from Keynote speaker and honoree Ms. Ann Evans “If you have more than you need, make your table longer.” Angie Ceroli served on a panel describing our grant projects giving other Clubs ideas of simple ways to serve in their community using the wonderful matching program the District Grants provide. Several Clubs are working on installing solar panels (PVs) for Habitat for Humanity homes. See an article on how this type of project is impacting energy efficiency and resiliency. The District Conference service project was compiling Care kits for the Winston-Salem area needy/homeless in partnership with the Hope Vibes Shower Trailer nonprofit which are mobile shower and laundry trucks that move around the city to serve the homeless.
