** Angier Rotary hosted an Ice Cream Social to celebrate our Parks & Recs sports team athletes and cheerleaders at Jack Marley Park AND to bring Awareness to World Polio DAY on October 24th, 6-8pm.
We were excited to celebrate the dedication of our local athletes and families to our to community, fun and fitness! We enjoyed treating all involved in Parks & Rec that evening. AND we are thankful for the opportunity our Club members had sharing/building camaraderie in our community.
During ice cream/popsicle distribution to athletes and families, Park Staff and other visitors, The Club also proudly emphasized the Role of Rotary in eradicating Polio around the world. The October 18th World Health Summit in Berlin, Germany resulted in the global community committing US$2.6 billion to the global effort to eradicate polio. The WHO Oct 21-22 Geneva conference discussed the state of polio eradication and applying the joint collaboration with Rotary for broader public health efforts globally to ensure healthier futures for women and children. We will all benefit equally from a polio-free world, so all of us have clear responsibility to help achieve it. Together, we end polio!
